Blog Party!

I'm entering a giveaway at Below the Plateau! Looks like fun! :D

1. Ring! Ring! You receive a phone call from a national sweepstakes organization saying that you have won a life-time supply of your favorite beverage!! What would that drink be?

Coffee of course! Which reminds me... I want some...
...
...
...
Ahh... that's better. :)
2. If you could live in a Jane Austen novel, which book would you pick? What character would you be?
I think that would have to be Mansfield Park. I really don't know who I'm most like, but I think it's either Catherine from Northanger Abbey or Fanny from Mansfield Park. I would prefer to be Fanny... :P

3. What is your theme song, that favorite song that absolutely matches you?
I'm not sure... What is it?

4. You are trapped on a deserted island. Your only supplies are the clothes you have on, and a box with five things in it. What are those five things?
1. My bestest friend. :D (it's a very large box)
2. Phone to call someone
3. Water
4. Swimsuit (I love swimming) :D There'd better not be sharks...
5. A zune! (with headphones) :D Of course full of music and stuff

5. Chocolate or Caramel?
How about both? Half and half?
6. Vacation! If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?
Hawaii! :D

7. If forced to do one of the two, which would you do: sky diving or scuba diving? Why?

Like I said before, I love swimming! Besides, you could be there longer and there's much more to see.

8. Favorite TV show, and why?
Doctor Who!!!!!!!!!! It's just the best show ever.

9. Are you a coffee and donuts sorta lady, or a tea and scones type of gal?
Coffee and donuts. I don't like scones or tea. Though I have been known to drink caffeinated tea when times were desperate and there was no coffee to be had...

10.The time machine has finally been created, and you are the first to be able to use it! What era would you travel too?
Either 10 years into the future, or to the 1950's which I LOVE. White Christmas, one of my all time favorite movies was made in 1954.

11. What is the last movie you watched?
The Maiden Heist. It was rather amusing.

12. Ding-dong!!! Your favorite actor/singer/celebrity is at your front door! Who would it be?
I really would rather not meet any of my favorite actors... I would be too afraid that they would be nothing like I would like them to be. Cary Grant is a pretty safe bet though. My Grandma met him and said that he was just like the way he is in his movies. :D

13. What was your absolute favorite toy as a baby?
I really didn't have a favorite toy that I can remember... Forrest and I played lots of pretend games.

14. What types of blogs do your like best? (examples: DIY, cooking, journal, ect.)
I like all kinds of blogs. :)

15. What is your favorite Bible verse, your "life verse?"
1. To the Chief Musician. A Contemplation of the sons of Korah. AS the deer pants for the water brooks, So pants my soul for You, O God.
2. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God?
3. My tears have been my food day and night, While they continually say to me, "Where is your God?"
4. When I remember these things, I pour out my soul within me. For I used to go with the multitude; I went with them to the house of God, With the voice of joy and praise, With a multitude that kept a pilgrim feast.
5. Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him For the help of His countenance.
6. O my God, my soul is cast down within me; Therefore I will remember You from the land of the Jordan, And from the heights of Hermon, From the Hill MIzar.
7. Deep calls unto deep at the noise of Your waterfalls; All Your waves and billows have gone over me.
8. The LORD will command His lovingkindness in the daytime, And in the night His song shall be with me— A prayer to the God of my life.
9. I will say to God my Rock, "Why have You forgotten me? Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?"
10. As with a breaking of my bones, My enemies reproach me, While they say to me all day long, "Where is your God?"
11. Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God; For I shall yet praise Him, The help of my countenance and my God.

There is just something about that chapter...

You Are Roller Skates

You are easy going and a lot of fun. You are playful and a bit of a tease.
You value stability and security. You want to be able to relax and focus on other things.
You aren't easily impressed by new gadgets. You prefer what's tried and true.
You have an eye to the past. You love anything that's retro, vintage, or classic.

Song for today.

I love this song so much... Radiohead is such an amazing band.
I love the fifties fashions...

Isn't this exquisite?

What's Your Autumn Personality?

Your Autumn Personality is Artistic

There's something about fall that makes you want to create, and there's nothing holding you back.
Take out your camera and snap some amazing fall foliage shots. Or paint or draw what you see.
Experiment with fall produce and see if you can cook up something amazing. Create your own Halloween costume.
Get creative this autumn. Have fun with all the colors, flavors, and celebrations!

I love the Fall. :D It's such a beautiful time and it does inspire me a lot. Lets see if I can get some work done on my book! :D

Songs for today.

Ok, I confess, I like Taylor Swift. A lot. :D She gets beat up on a lot and I'm not really sure why... I mean yes, she is a little fluffy, but so what? There are so many fluffy singers that so many people go crazy over! And really, her songs are much much better than most girl singers her age, especially in the pop area.

I think most girls are probably just jealous. She's famous, makes a living singing, and makes these videos with pretty girly dresses that most girls wish they had a reason to wear. :P Plus, she's beautiful and has a lovely voice.

The Nebulous Kingdom

As you know I have been very into Etsy lately. :) There are so many creative and wonderful things on there! It can be a tad overwhelming.

This I think is my favorite shop.

The Nebulous Kingdom by Anne Julie

Her art is mysterious, beautiful, thoughtful, both sad and happy. It is so hard for me to pick only a few things! If I could I would put up every single one.

This one was inspired by Angel by Sarah McLachlan. A song that I am currently learning. :)

Il etait une fois... (Once upon a time)

It is very hard to choose just one favorite, but if I had to, this one, from Edward Scissorhands probably is. I love this picture.

If you can't afford the large prints then the postcards are a great alternative. As soon as I have some spending money I know I am going to get some. :D This one is a large postcard.

And this is a small one.

So there you are. Her art is beautiful and you really should go check her out. You can find her blog here. If you need some new and interesting art for your walls you should get some of hers!

Artistry and Inspiration...

I have been feeling pretty sick lately so that has left time for other things. Especially thinking. Specifically thinking about inspiration. About what inspires me.

Have you ever had the feeling or maybe emotion is a better word... The absolute need to create a thing of beauty? A piece of art that moves someone's heart? Or to sing a song that causes someone to cry? That you must do this or burst? That your heart will burst right out of your chest and write a story that will stay with the person who reads it forever.

I both love and hate this feeling. I love it because the need in of itself is beautiful to me. I hate it because I am not talented enough or creative enough to make anything like that. I can sing a little and I can write a very little, and when I am under it's influence I can sing or write better than I could at any other time. But nothing would ever be good enough. Nothing would ever live up to the loveliness I know it should have.

I know, I know... Josh Groban... But if you just listen to the music. Don't think of him singing it. Listen to the words, the melody, the longing. I can't think of anything to describe this feeling than through music. It's not something you can put into words. Music can describe things better than just words.

Radiohead is another band that puts a lot into their music. I love this band... But I think love is the wrong word.

But even music I think, falls short sometimes...

Do you ever get this? What do you do? Can you ever create something that lives up to the passion?

Songs for today.

I was in my room making jewelry today while listening to kink and Stevie Ray Vaughan and Bob Marley both came on. I had forgotten how much I love this stuff... I grew up on it. I don't have very many memories of when I was little, but one distinct one I have is sitting in the living room with the sun coming in the window and Bob Marley playing on our old stereo.

This song makes me think of driving through Portland at night. All the lights... Or long drives at night down the highway when it's not so full. Just the red and white lights going by... Mmmm... Isn't it good?

Mmm...

Well, contrary to the title of this blog I have not been drinking coffee at midnight or at any other time for that matter. At least for the last couple days. In fact, we have been out of coffee for three days!!! And for people who know me, or people who are as caffeine addicted as I am, you know this is very bad. Thus I have been head achy, tired, depressed, and all around miserable.

Oh what I wouldn't have done...

But! Last night my loving mother walked to the Plaid Pantry and bought me one of those cold Starbucks frappuccino things in exchange for a clean kitchen. So now, I am drinking that and looking forward to the nice hot strong cup of coffee I will have later when we have more beans. Mmmmm...
